I did see that the material got trapped only at the outline of the magnet I
have. I wonder how having a "blanket" covering the whole filter works.
Maybe you could stick a piece of the magnetic material on a piece of sheet
metal and pour some filings on the other side of the sheet metal to verify how
it works? Many small magnets may be better than one large.
