The fastest Pantera in the world (read: Bonneville) is SWEDISH!!!
Both drivers reached 219 mph (350 km/)!
This is faster than _any_ Pantera recorded at Bonneville.
The old record was 202 mph (323 km/h).
Kjell Holgersson made one more attempt and reached 225 mph (360 km/h) but
had a spin so this is not official. He said it was quit a ride to spin at
this speed! One hood (don't know which one) broke loose and was destroyed.
But it's over now. The car don't go faster than 225 mph. They need more
power.
They did not become members of the 200 mph club since the did not break the
old record at 248 mph (397 km/h)! That is the rule of the club.
They are _very_ satisfied and happy!
The locals said they had _no_ chance at all. They said the would not go
faster than 150 mph (240 km/h) in this configuration. They say it is not
tuned for this type of racing. It's too light etc.
Bjorn and Kjell didn't listen.
They just drove it... :-)
